Our
black walnut comes from Southern Pennsylvania and Virginia. We do stock
a small quantity of figured Western Claro Walnut, primarily for drawer
fronts, panels and wide single board tops. Figure is rarer in Eastern
walnut than in the other species we carry, and often tends to strong grain
patterns as opposed to the curl and tiger stripe of the other woods. We
sell our walnut as figured or plain according to the amount of curl and
strong grain in the lumber, and also carry a lot of crotch walnut for
panels and drawer fronts.

| We stock a lot of 4/4 and 5/4 lumber in widths from 4" to 20"+ in single boards and matched sets. We have a lot of shorts in this species because of the amount of damage found in the walnut logs, and have lots of wide pieces for case sides and tops and nicely grained/figured pieces for drawer fronts and panels. | |||||||||

We
carry some 6/4 and stock a lot of 8/4 in single boards and matched sets
in widths up to 16". The 12/4, 16/4, 20/4, 24/4 is primarily cut
for turning and leg stock and is cut extra plump and in multiples for
matching squares and is available in turning squares, single planks and
matched planks. We cut matched sets of wide matching boards specifically
for table tops in 4/4, 5/4, and 8/4. The tops are 2 - 4 boards wide and
range from 30"-48" by 5' to 10' long.
