Tulip Poplar was the main wood for use as a secondary wood in traditional furniture produced in the Mid-Atlantic states, and it's availability today in wide clear boards combined with it's good working characteristics make it an excellent choice as a secondary wood or as a wood for constructing country or painted furniture. We carry 3/4" wide Poplar in widths from 4" to 22" wide for drawer sides, piece drawer bottoms and wide backboards. We also carry wide 4/4 up to 24" wide for 1 piece tops and bottoms in furniture case construction and for wide panels for architectural woodwork. We carry some wide sets for table tops in 5/4 and 6/4 and stock 8/4 an 10/4 and 12/4 Poplar. We also carry a large inventory of 10/4 stock cut in 4" wide multiples for bed rail stock.
